MEECO Technologies Inc. successfully completed the replacement of two 4-million BTU boilers at the Father Ermanno Bulfon Community Centre for the City of Vaughan. This large-scale mechanical project required extensive planning, coordination, and technical expertise to ensure the facility’s heating systems were upgraded efficiently while maintaining reliable operation for the community centre.
The Scope of Work
The project involved the safe removal of the existing boiler systems and the installation of two new high-capacity boilers designed to provide improved energy efficiency, performance, and long-term reliability.
Due to the size and complexity of the equipment, the work required careful logistical planning, equipment handling, and coordination with multiple trades to ensure the installation process was completed smoothly and on schedule.

Our Approach And Solution
The $4 million project was successfully completed in two separate phases with both phases coming in on schedule and the overall costs coming in under budget. Emergency repairs to the facility were completed on December 11th, 2014 which allowed for the facility to operate through the critical winter months. Permanent electrical repairs along with less critical site deficiencies were completed in April and May of 2016 when a longer facility shut-down could be tolerated. In order to meet the required schedule, TransGas delegated procurement and construction management services to WSP.
